Question:
What is a book you didn't like that all your friends raved about or what book did you love that wasn't popular?
Answer:
Sadly, I can't answer the first part of that question because none of my face to face friends read books for fun. Well...I guess that's not completely true. Two of my friends read books but one takes five months to complete one and the other just simply doesn't have enough time. Which still leaves me with no answer for that question....
However, there are loads of books that I've loved but aren't popular because there self published or from small publishing companies. Samantha Young is one of my all time favorite authors, and I have loved every. single. one of her YA books! Which is a huge deal, because she's written plenty of novels, and I very rarely like all the books one particular author has written. She's probably better known for her Adult series, On Dublin Street, but her YA books like Blood Will Tell or Smokeless Fire deserve a lot more attention then there being given.
I've never heard of Samantha Young, but now I need to go check out her books.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of her but now I'm quite curious :)

I am with you, most of my face to face friends don't read much. That is what I am loving about the book blogging world. :-) I love self published books and have many favorites. Following you.
ReplyDeleteHopping through. It's hard when real life friends don't read. Most of my friends don't read YA books like me, but I've gotten my parents and my husband into some of them. So that helps.

Same problem, my friends don't really read all that much- and not romance books like me.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new GFC follower, my hop's at Rookie Romance
I have friends who read in "real life" but not many that read the genre I do... romance!

Aw, I feel sad that you don't have friends who read for fun. It's really fun to convince my friends to read a book that I liked. And I wont stop till they actually read it :D

Hi from a new follower
ReplyDeleteYou are in the same boat as me. None of my friends like reading like I am =X. They do read sometimes but they just have a different preference and we can never agree on it. I've never read anything from Samantha Young before, gotta check her out besides her books have a pretty cover.

Hi, new follower! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of Samantha Young's books. My daughter read her trilogy - I wish I could remember the name of the books. :/ But she absolutely loved the first one, which was free, and then we bought her the next two books.
My FF
I haven't read them yet!
