Question: What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you abhor love
triangles? Or can't deal with bad editing?
Answer: For me, a deal breaker is usually a weak hero/heroine. I can't stand reading about weak characters, and most of the time, if I'm 99% sure that the character won't get stronger throughout the book, I'll just put it down and stop reading altogether. I mean, I don't mind if the character starts off unconfident and shy but then faces situations that makes him/her stronger (Example: The Girl of Fire and Thorns), but if they stay that way through the whole novel, I get aggravated.
The bad editing also is a huge turn off when I read a book. It doesn't usually stop me from finishing, (unless it's really bad) but if words aren't spelt right or if the sentences are grammatically incorrect, it takes away from the enjoyment of the story.

I hate weak characters too. Like you said, I don't mind development, but if they stay weak the entire time, they really annoy me.
