Question:
What is your preferred reading format? Hardcover, ebooks, paperback, etc.?
Answer:
The universal question, eh? Well...I don't exactly have a preferred reading format, because there are a countless number of pros and cons for each one. Hardcovers are amazing, because they give you easier access to flip back and forth between pages, in case you missed something important. In addition to that, there just so darn pretty! I have literally found myself staring creepily at certain covers for absurd amounts of time without even realizing it. On the downside, hardcovers are a bit expensive. =/ Ebooks are way easier to carry around and cheaper, but at the same time, they don't give you the same feeling of satisfaction you get when reading from a physical copy. Well at least for me anyways. Maybe I'm just weird. xD
I couldn't agree more! I love hardcovers, but my wallet doesn't. I used to be one of the few at the library, but lately everyone around here has caught on and the wait lists are loooong. So ebooks have curbed my lack of patience LOL. Happy Friday. Old follower.

Hopping through. I like being able to flip through hardcovers - although sometimes ebooks are better b/c I don't give in and look at the end.

I do have to agree that hardcovers are soooooo pretty, but sometimes they cost A LOT. I wish I was a millionaire so that I could buy more pretty books!(:

I agree, I love to have the physical copy, but eBooks are so much more convenient.

Oh I totally agree that I get more satisfaction from a physical book - especially a hard cover!

New reader! :) I love your blog. http://a-bookaholic-reader.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! I prefer reading paperbacks. I love the feel of real pages in my hand. I read eBooks sometimes, though. They're always faster to finish and you can easily highlight the passages you like.

Good answer! I read them all as well! But still prefer the real book!

This is my first visit and love your blog design and header. Besides Insurgent, many of the others are on my to read list! I will read anything I can get my hands on and agree with you that they each have their pros/cons. Here's my FF post for this week-hope you'll follow back.
ReplyDeleteI am currently reading Devil in the White City and enjoying it so far. It's a great combination of history and suspense.
ReplyDeleteI'm always tempted by pretty hardcovers, even though the price ought to discourage me! I agree that they have their pros and cons.

I'm a fan of all formats too- it really depends on the book or just whatever or wherever I'm reading. This is not a simple question! ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the name of your blog! New Bloglovin follower!
I feel the same way in the sense that you never get that feeling of satisfaction when yo finish a book with E-books. And that's a really good point.

Even when I don't have any money I still go into book stores to browse the covers so its definitely not creepy! The good thing about eBooks though is that most of the time they're cheaper than the physical copy and you don't have to wait around for them to be delivered or go out and buy them. I'm still a hardback girl though! Old Follower :)

I can agree to this! Solid, sound answer. and i agree that sadly ebooks are cheaper than hardbacks (which is why I often go for paperbacks :)

I agree with your answer pro's and con's to all. I find myself just looking at hardback covers way too much when I'm trying to blog. I prefer to hold the book but I like the convenience of ebooks.
