This week's WoW is Exile by Shannon Messenger.

Exile by Shannon Messenger

Goodreads Synopsis:

Sophie Foster thought she was safe. Settled into her home at Havenfield, surrounded by friends, and using her unique telepathic abilities to train Silveny--the first female alicorn ever seen in the Lost Cities--her life finally seems to be coming together.

But Sophie's kidnappers are still out there. And when Sophie discovers new messages and clues from the mysterious Black Swan group, she’s forced to take a terrifying risk—one that puts everyone in incredible danger.

As long buried secrets rise to the surface, it’s once again up to Sophie to uncover hidden memories—before someone close to her is lost forever.

In this second book in the Keeper of the Lost Cities series, Sophie must journey to the darkest corners of her luminous world in a sequel that will leave you breathless for more.

My Thoughts:

First thought: OMG LOOK AT THE PRETTY UNICORN ON THE COVER! *Clears throat* Now that that's out of my system.....I never expected to enjoy this series, because it was obviously aimed towards the middle grade audience. The only thought that kept me going was that Percy Jackson, which was clearly written for the middle grade as well, was freaking epic and loved by children and adults everywhere, despite their age differences. Although I couldn't connect with the Keeper of The Lost Cities (Geez that's a mouthful) in a teenage point of view, it definitely spoke to the inner kid in me. The kid who longs for adventure and excitement. It brought back happy memories and reminded me of the days when I was just a free spirit, roaming around without a care in the world. Definitely cannot wait to find out where Sophie's adventures bring her next.

  2. Awww it's a middle grade book! I've never been into those. I don't think I was ever a creative child. Sigh.

I just can't stop staring at the pretty unicorn.
