Amazon Summary:
Until the day I met John Smith, Number Four, I'd been on the run alone,
hiding and fighting to stay alive.
Together, we are much more powerful. But it could only last so long before we had to separate to find the others. . . .
I went to Spain to find Seven, and I found even more, including a tenth member of the Garde who escaped from Lorien alive. Ella is younger than the rest of us, but just as brave. Now we're looking for the others—including John.
But so are they.
They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They caught me in New York—but I escaped.
I am Number Six.
They want to finish what they started.
But they'll have to fight us first.
My Review:
This book left me......speechless. I literally had to put it down multiple times just to breathe and stop hyperventilating! After reading I Am Number Four and The Power of Six, I thought that The Rise of Nine would be the same mediocre writing. The first two books in my opinion were great but not awesome. I first heard of this series by watching a trailer on T.V. for the movie I Am Number Four, which by the way was epic! Since the movie left me breathless and eager for more, I expected the novel to live up to my high expectations. Sadly, I was disappointed but The Rise of Nine definitely made up for it!
So lets recap shall we? In I Am Number Four and The Power Of Six, we learn that ten Garde and there protectors (also known as Cepan) have escaped their planet Lorien, which had been decimated by the evil and revolting Mogodorians. These ten Garde were chosen to be sent to Earth in order to hide until their Lorien Legacies developed, make one final stand, and end the Mogodorians and their leader once and for all. Numbers One though Three have already died.
Throughout both of these novels we have heard from Four, Six, Seven, Nine, and Ten. In The Rise of Nine, the point of view is switched between Four, Six, and Seven. Since, the second book ended off with Four and Nine together and Six, Seven, and Ten together, that's where this novel starts off. Gahhh that's alot of numbers! Anyways, when I started this novel I was a little unsure if I would like it because I'm not usually a fan of novels with more then 1 or 2 points of views. When there's more then two points of views, books tend to get messy and I can never remember who's talking. That wasn't the case for this book because each character had a very distinct voice and personality that made it very easy to figure out who was really talking. That's one of the reasons I absolutely love this author! He can switch between personalities so easily and all of the characters sound and think like real teens, unlike some of the books I've read in the past.
Another thing I love about this author is that you can never guess what's going to happen! Every single time I finally thought I figured out the rest of the book and the ending, he flips the whole situation upside down! I recommend this book to both boys and girls because unlike most of the YA books out there this one isn't focused on the romance! I mean yeah there are some characters who like each other more than friends but hey there teenagers what do you expect? The Rise of Nine is a book filled with danger, heart racing suspense, and a action packed adventure you'll never forget!

Each one of these books give you just enough information and character development to draw you in to the next one. I love how each character is so fully developed and uniquely different from each other.
