Feature and Follow

Question: Confess your blogger sins! Is there anything as a newbie blogger that you've done, that as you gained more experience you were like -- oops?

Answer: Oh gosh. Even though I've already been blogging for about 6 months, I still consider myself a newbie. I'm still learning as I go along, but one of the more major mistakes I made back in the day....would have to be linking book reviews. I was sooo frustrated when I first began, because I just couldn't figure out how to link posts and transfer them all onto one specific page dedicated to book reviews. So instead of doing that, I wrote all my reviews on separate pages. Which didn't go over so well, because as you can deduce, I ran out of pages once I reached 20 reviews. After many days of hair pulling and face palming, I finally discovered how to do it by clicking random buttons! :D Hurrah! I feel like such a idiot now.  *Looks away ashamed*

How about you? What mistakes have you made?

  1. I think one of my favorite things about this hop so far is seeing so many beautiful blogging designs. Your site is gorgeous! I'm new, too and making mistakes left and right. I still don't have a review policy up, I'm requesting way too many things from netgalley, and I'm already behind on my reading and I'm brand new at this! :) *waves hi*

  3. It's hard when you first start out. I know when I started there weren't too many other bloggers so I was really on my own in trying to figure things out!

  4. We've all been there in terms of coding! I remember Wordpress driving me up the wall with the menu options and how to link up pages, etc. It took me an entire weekend and when I realized it was so easy to do I wanted to bang my head against a wall.

  11. I had the same problem, but in a different way. I couldn't figure out how to make a separate page to put the links for my reviews on. It took my about a week to figure it out.

  12. I'm terrible at figuring out the technical stuff with blogging platforms too. HTML and CSS is so over my head, it's insane.
