Question:

We are about to see a lot of posts & tweets about reader conventions,
RT, BEA, ALA, and many more are starting soon.
Which one would you love to attend? Where and why?

Answer:

Even though I've been blogging for a decent amount of time now, I still feel like a newbie when it comes to these types of questions. I've heard about these events, well some of these events, from certain authors who are going to be making a guest appearance there. But other than that, Nada. I know absolutely nothing about any of these conventions, besides the obvious of course which is that it has something to do with books. I'm still not all that sure I would go even if I was invited, because I'm pretty shy when it comes to strangers. I'd probably be the one rocking back and forth in a secluded corner rather than doing whatever your supposed to do at these things. xD

  1. Eek I also feel like a newbie sometimes, even though I've been blogging for a year... I obviously haven't tried to integrate myself in the book blogging community hard enough, but sometimes it feels oh so hard to make a niche!

I too am not too familiar with the readers conventions. I have heard about them but I haven't researched any of them because I live in New Zealand!

    I've followed via RSS/Bloglovin' :)

  2. You should totally go to BEA when you get the chance. I might be going for the first time next year.

Thanks for stopping by, following back!

  3. Ah don't feel bad for not knowing of these events. I wasn't aware of some of the big conventions until a few months ago. While I'd like to attend BEA, I think I'd feel overwhelmed with it.

  4. I don't know anything about these conventions either! You're not alone. I've been blogging for a long time, but only book blogging for about 4 months now. I would love to go to either BEA or RT next year.

  5. Don't feel bad! I was a newbie about all this years ago as well! Really wished I knew it sooner too because I so would've taken a week off from high school for this since I want to be a writer. I could've learned more sooner!

  10. Haha, I'd be the same way! It's much easier to interact with strangers on the Internet, but face to face... shyness kicks in :D

    Followed you back!

  11. I know just about how much you do. A few authors I knew will be at some event, but I know nothing else.
I'd also be holed up in some corner, trying to get enough courage to go talk to a author.

  13. I'm super shy in person, so I can totally relate with you! I'd still love to go to the BEA - it sounds like a book lover's heavenly paradise, lol. I didn't know much about any of these conventions, either, so I had to look up info on them in order to answer the question, hee hee.

  15. It's okay if you're shy! Just find other shy people, create a mob, and boom, you fit in :)

Or you can meet up with fellow book bloggers like me and we can all discuss books together and glorify them.

  16. Well, you are not alone. Although I went to The RT Convention in LA a couple of years ago, I only went to the Book Fair which was cool and I got to meet my fave authors and asked for their autograph. I did not go to the full convention because they are a bit costly.

  17. Hello!! I found your blog through the feature and follow post. It is a really good idea to get new followers although I'm new to this blogging world :D I love your blog. How did you get the navigation bar to be black and blue like that? My blog is so bland and boring...can you give me some tips to improve my blog? :D
